The revitalization of a former ship-building site into an upscale
resort-inspired community on Georgian Bay has earned Fram Building
Group and Slokker Real Estate Group a major award over other innovative
and environmentally sustainable developments on brownfield sites across
Canada.
Based on several factors – including inventive resolutions
regarding contamination issues and high-quality urban designs and
public spaces – the project, known as the Shipyards, was named Best
Large-Scale Project at the Canadian Urban Institute's annual Brownie
Awards held last month.

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger’s estate in Greenwich, Conn., has sold for $20 million, about $8 million below its original asking price. Sotheby’s International Realty says the 20,000-square-foot mansion is being purchased by a family who toured it in September. The mansion has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, indoor basketball court, sauna, massage room with a waterfall, and home theater. Hilfiger purchased the home in 2005 for $18 million. It had been on the market since February 2008. (AP)
