October 7, 2010 - Sotheby's International Realty Canada was the major sponsor for the town's annual golf tournament. There were 144 golfers as well as dinner guests who came out to support the event with all proceeds donated to the NEW Community Centre scheduled to open in the Spring 2011.

Thanks to all who attended, and the generosity of donations of fabulous getaway packages and gifts from local businesses, over $35,000 was raised. The Sotheby's International Realty Canada Niagara team were happy to give back to the community that extended so much support to them following a fire last October that destroyed their office building.

Next year's tournament will again be sponsored by Sotheby's and held at the NEW Community Centre.  Mark your calendars for…

Sun Peaks Resort hosted a major meeting of owners and fans last weekend, including the company's new CEO for Canada    By Andrew McCredie, Vancouver Sun September 17, 2010

Evidently, Mother Nature drives a Porsche.

How else to explain a postcard-perfect late-summer Saturday for the Porsche Club of America's Escape 2010 at this Interior resort?

Driving from Vancouver to Sun Peaks on Friday and a return trip on Sunday, the windshield wipers on the 2011 Boxster Spyder I piloted received a four-hour workout on each leg. However, on Saturday morning the clouds parted, the sun broke through and the in-line-sixes came to life as 120 pristine products of Stuttgart were rolled into the quaint Sun Peaks Village.

In fact, about 200 Porsches from all over North America…

Connell, Michibata entering hall of fame

Real estate just as profitable as tennis was for Connell

Grant Connell was a media darling, or as big a media darling as you can be in the small pond that is Canadian tennis.

The former world No. 1 in doubles and three-time Wimbledon doubles runner-up had the mischievous self-assurance and bashfulness to charm women, while brimming with the kind of irreverence and jock humour that appealed to men.

Now 44, and 13 years after leaving the game, the married Vancouver father of five has become as successful in business as he was in tennis, something of a feat among former professional athletes.

“Ecstatic,” Connell says, regarding his career as an agent for Sotheby’s International Realty Canada in Vancouver. “I’m lucky to have found…

Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s Niagara-on-the-Lake office participated in the sponsorship of the Black White and Read Masquerade Gala held at the Leisureplex in Fort Erie on Saturday, April 10th.  This was a well attended fundraising initiative in support of the Adult Literacy Council. The Adult Literacy Council of Greater Fort Erie (ALC) was founded in November 1978 to provide help in basic reading, writing and math for members of the community who were no longer in the school system. The first tutor training workshop was held in January 1979 and since that time volunteer tutors have been matched with learners on an ongoing basis. Looking to attract super-wealthy visitors wanting to buy a slice of the province

Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at 6:54pm. 1002 Views, 0 Comments.

Like the vineyard properties she hopes to sell, Christa Frosch's real estatesales pitches at Whistler during the Olympics will have to mature before they bear fruit.

The Olympics give Frosch and her colleagues at Sotheby's International Realty an enviable entrée into the elite strata of buyers able to contemplate laying down millions for acres of vineyard in the Okanagan, and then spending millions more on building a luxury residence.

An entrée, yes. A signed deal in hand - well, not likely during the Games themselves. Frosch said it can take up to a year to consummate a high-end real estate deal, meaning the Winter Games will be long over before she and the other realtors at Sotheby's will be able to determine whether their Olympic marketing effort has been…

Hopes (And Fears) Going into the Games

Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at 6:49pm. 786 Views, 0 Comments.

The Olympics gave Sotheby’s an enviable entrée into the elite strata of real estate buyers able to contemplate laying down millions for recreational properties. But an entrée is different than a deal in hand. The company hoped to reach interested buyers through events and the expansion of its office at a luxury hotel in Whistler.
