Four Seasons homes in Bangalore herald a ritzy real estate trend

I do have high standards where my living spaces are concerned,” says Raj Chawla, who is among the first set of clients to buy a Four Seasons branded residence in Bangalore. A two-bedroom apartment on the 24th floor of the building that will also house the Four Seasons hotel will be Chawla’s retirement home. “By the time I am 50, I hope,” laughs the 43-year-old, Singapore-based investment banker.

For Chawla, a Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts regular, the choice was a simple one. “Though I don’t live in Bangalore, there is an assurance that I won’t be short-changed because of the brand…

Lake & Mountain Living

Kootenay Lake Village, Nelson, BC

One hundred year-old forests on 450 acres of pristine landscape. Breathtaking views of Kootenay Lake. Alpine peaks of the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges in the distance. It’s no wonder that Kootenay Lake Village, one of British Columbia’s premier real estate developments marketed by Blueprint Global Marketing, a strategic alliance with Sotheby’s International Realty, sold out on the first day of its release.

Fortunately, there are still several unique waterfront opportunities for those who yearn to escape to lake and mountain living- from cabin lots with water views to expansive lakeside estate homesites.…

Ritz: highest-priced condo ever in Quebec

NOTE: The following article appeared in the Montreal Gazette, but we'd like to correct the selling price as being just over $14 million plus taxes as opposed to the reported $13 million.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~
The sale of the penthouse at the Montreal Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences might be the highest priced residential transaction ever in Quebec.
But despite selling for $13 million plus taxes, the opulent penthouse at the historic Sherbrooke St. hotel is significantly less expensive than a luxurious unit with similar amenities in Vancouver, or Toronto.
In Toronto's Yorkville district, a 9,000-square-foot penthouse at the Four Seasons hotel and residences -with separate living quarters for staff -is still on the market for a staggering $30 million.
It's the…
The Sir George Simpson condominium project is bringing the sheen back to the Golden Square Mile
Montreal's Golden Square Mile was the name of a once prestigious neighbourhood that existed along the southern slopes of Mount Royal, roughly west along Sherbrooke St. from the grounds of McGill University.
From the late 19th century into the early 20th century, it was the domicile of Canada's ultra rich movers and shakers. In fact, at the start of the 20th century, close to 70 per cent of Canada's total wealth was controlled by residents of the Golden Square Mile.
Some of these elite included shipping magnate, Sir Hugh Allan, brewer John Molson, sugar baron John Redpath, the founder of McGill University, James McGill, fur baron Simon…
