PARSIPPANY, N.J. 02-23-2010 — Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC today announced that Realogics Brokerage, LLC, in Seattle is the newest member of its luxury real estate network. 

The firm, owned by Dean and Stacy Jones of Realogics, Inc., now will do business as Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty. Sam Cunningham will serve as the designated broker and co-owner. The firm will service the Greater Seattle area in western Washington and complements the brand’s existing affiliates in Bellevue, Friday Harbor and University Place: Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty, Island Group Sotheby’s International Realty and Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty, respectively.

Sotheby's International Realty Sponsors Ice Wine Sculpture

On January 23, Niagara-on-the-Lake held its annual Ice Wine Festival closing the main street to accommodate the event.  The street festival was open to the public offering samples of icewine and food provided by 22 wineries and 12 culinary partners.   Jazz-themed ice sculptures sponsored by local business provided a unique photo opportunity for locals and tourists. During the day, the Sotheby’s International Realty Canada sponsored piano and bench live carving gave attendees the chance to observe the talent whilst strolling through the “village” and enjoying the sound of contemporary jazz.

Record house sale at Sun Peaks Resort

A couple of million dollars can still buy a lot of things these days, but it wouldn’t cover the cost of the most expensive pad at Sun Peaks Resort.

A home at the resort recently fetched $2.2 million — a record for residential property.

Liz Forster, managing broker at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, told KTW the property was listed for only a month before it was snapped up.

So, what comes with all those zeros?

At 3,500 square feet, the home includes radiant in-floor heating, high-end appliances and a unique timber frame — not to mention a ski hill as a backyard.

“It’s actually a cross between a piece of art and a building,” Forster said.

The previously most expensive house at Sun Peaks sold for $1.5 million in 2006.

The Sotheby’s International Realty Canada office at 1731 Marine Drive in West Vancouver became host to the Sun Peaks office for a wine and cheese invitational event.  Sun Peaks Resort Corporation attended with large displays, including a 10’ X 10’ map of the Resort and donated the grand prize of a weekend getaway for two to Sun Peaks.  Our office listings were featured and a flat screen TV rolled the new Sun Peaks promotional video in the front window.  The West Van office continued to display our Sun Peaks listings, video, maps, etc. for an additional two weeks, to the end of August!  It is obvious that this large family network of Sotheby’s International Realty worldwide is a great benefit to Sun Peaks marketing efforts.

Sotheby's International Realty has arrived in Westmount.

Last Tuesday evening, the company famous for operating the world's oldest auction house held a cocktail party to mark the official opening of a branch of its real-estate division at One Westmount Square, and to celebrate the first anniversary of its office in Old Montreal. The guest list included Robert MacDougall, president of Sotheby's International Realty Quebec, and Allan Gotlieb, Canada's ambassador to the United States from 1981 to 1989, who is now chairman of Sotheby's Canada.
