The Stars Shine on Georgia

Vancouver’s landmark hotel/residence opens its presentation gallery doors June 23

June 12, Vancouver, B.C. —One of the most de rigueur addresses in Vancouver, the Private Residences
at Hotel Georgia, will open its presentation gallery for previews on June 23, offering buyers from around
the world a first look at Vancouver’s most talked-about development. The Private Residences—a
contemporary 48-storey residential tower attached to the iconic Hotel Georgia—will consist of 155
elegant condominiums and, at 150 metres, will make its mark on the skyline as one of Vancouver’s tallest
buildings.

The 1927 heritage hotel is being completely renovated over the next three years by the Delta Group and
will re-emerge as a Valencia Group property. The U.S.-based hotelier is recognized for their development
of leading boutique properties, including the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, which was
honoured by Condé Nast magazine as one of the Hot 100 best new hotels in the world and by Travel +
Leisure magazine as one of the Top 500 Hotels in the World.

The Hotel Georgia’s Georgian Revival exterior façade, ballroom, wood-paneled lobby and guest rooms
are all being transformed to modern luxury standards. “The Private Residences at Hotel Georgia will
place the city’s favourite heritage hotel, restored to luxury boutique status, next door to a daring,
contemporary high-rise design,” says Bruce Langereis, president and CEO of Delta Group, developers of
the estimated $400-million project.

The lavish residences, which start on the 14th floor, come in 17 distinctive plans, and range in size from
630 square feet to 3,700 square feet, with a 7,143-square-foot penthouse occupying the entire 48th floor.
Each suite comes with either a spacious balcony or a deck. Residents will enjoy all the luxury amenities
of the refurbished hotel, including: a 55-by-15-foot ozonated lap pool; fitness facility, with separate yoga
and Pilates studio; spa services; dry cleaning; a courtyard garden with outdoor fireplace; round-the-clock
concierge; valet and room service; a state-of-the-art wine cellar and humidor; a grand screening room, and
guaranteed access to all the hotel’s meeting facilities and function rooms.

Last week, Sotheby’s International Realty agents enjoyed a sneak preview of the presentation gallery.
“Reaction from our top tier international agents was unanimous—all of the agents stated this is one of the
most impressive properties they’ve seen internationally this year. They’ll be recommending the Private
Residences at Hotel Georgia to their clients,” stated Ross McCredie, president and CEO of Sotheby’s
International Realty Canada. The agents flew in from London, New York, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles,
San Francisco and Hawaii, among other locales.

Acclaimed interior designer Mitchell Freedland has developed two colour schemes for the suites—one
light, one dark—with floor layouts oriented towards the views, and exceptional attention-to-detail that
includes custom shop-finished millwork, engineered hardwood flooring, and master-bedroom wardrobe
areas fitted with shelving, drawers, shoe rack and rails. The top-floor penthouse—offering 360-degree
views of the city, mountains and ocean—will feature four bedrooms, four decks, a formal dining room
seating 14, a lounge with wet bar, an outdoor kitchen, plus a games room, library, office, wine room,
cloakroom and a laundry room with flower-arranging facilities. The kitchen, spacious enough to
accommodate a catering crew, will have two dishwashers, two ovens, two fridges, a six-burner stove and
a butler’s pantry.

The Hotel Georgia’s heritage restoration will be directed by Vancouver architects Malcolm Elliot and
Allan Endall. The Private Residences at Hotel Georgia is designed by Jim Hancock, Martin Bruckner and
Hilde Heyvaerts of the Vancouver architectural practice IBI/HB, and Endall Elliot Architects.

The presentation gallery is located at 699 Howe Street, at the corner of Georgia, and is open daily by
appointment only. On August 1, Sotheby’s will start accepting reservations, and on September 20
reservation holders will be able to make their suite selections. For more information, go to
